I wake up ev’ry morning,
Just as the day is dawning.
Another day is here for me,
Another day for me to see
The scudding clouds across the sky
And marvel as the birds fly by.
Another day to watch the trees
As they sway gently in the breeze.
Now what is on my list today?
What lovely things will come my way?
What can I do to bring good cheer
To all my friends, both far and near?
A blessing ’tis to feel so well,
How long ’twill last one cannot tell -
Until some ailment rears its head
And sends one quickly off to bed.
So don’t forget to take your pills
The doctor said would cure your ills.
The ones at breakfast, those at night,
Just take them all and you’ll be right
To wake up in the morning,
Just as the day is dawning.
